An authentic Italian dish featuring pasta and broccoli in a fresh marinara sauce made with D.O.P San Marzano tomatoes. This recipe combines the flavor of garlic, extra virgin olive oil, and fresh basil, topped with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. It's a nostalgic meal that brings the flavors of Naples to your kitchen.
What you need

parmigiano reggiano cheese

lb pasta

basil leaves

tsp kosher salt
Instructions
1: Bring a large sauce pan with water and salt to a boil. 2: Mince garlic and prepare broccoli by washing it and cutting it into large florets. 3: Blend a can of San Marzano DOP in a blender for 5 seconds until mostly pureed. 4: In a deep pan, heat olive oil on medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. 5: Add in pureed tomatoes and bring to a bubble. Once bubbling, reduce heat to low/simmer and allow to cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. 6: At the halfway mark of your sauce cooking, add pasta to boiling water. 7: After a minute or so, add in broccoli florets and allow to cook together until pasta is al dente. 8: Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the pasta and broccoli. Add to sauce and mix well. 9: Add some pasta water (1/2 cup at a time) until desired sauce consistency is met. 10: Top with parmigiana reggiano cheese and enjoy.View original recipe
